ebc gp fax race brake pads

£80-£100

When I first heard about these EBC GP fax race brake pads I was a bit skeptical, but everyone was raving about them.

So why not full marks? These pads aren't cheap (£90 for both calipers), but you do get what you pay for.

I have an RR6 Fireblade with radial calipers and standard pads and the 929 side mounted calipers with the EBC pads easily out perform it. The main reason for this is the amount of friction they provide. These pads are for RACE use only and are too"high performance" to be used on the road.

Will I use these again? 100% yes. They aren't destroying my discs and the power they give is constant.

These are on there 4th track day and its only at the last event at Oulton Park where I could brake at 90% ish. Why not 100%? Because they're that good, that when braking from high speed at 80% it started to get unsettled. I ended up removing some preload and increasing tension to dial it out.

The back wheel now lifts off the floor which you have to be careful off, and at Oulton James did this into Lodge on the brakes and looked like a hero! He couldn't feel the difference in the first session to HH pads but when his confidence increased he said he could tell a difference.

The only other downside to these besides the cost is they create quite a bit of dust, but I'll happily live with that!

What we like

What we didn't like

What we didn't like

  • Best pads I've ever used, no question
  • They give great feel, unbelievable stopping power and they don't eat discs!
  • Lasting longer than I thought they would, but that's probably just my ability!

What we didn't like

What we didn't like

What we didn't like

  • Cost - Not cheap against other pads but the cost is worth it.
  • Dust - These create so much dust and I would advise removing the pads after a track day and giving everything a good clean
