Everyone is at the event to enjoy themselves.
Make friends with everyone in your garage (whilst social distancing...) as the banter will be on another level.
You'll find that everyone will offer help, and even parts if you have an issue. On every track day I've been on you'll find someone making the rounds for a tool or a part so they can get out on track again. Do your best to help them.
We don't hesitate to try and help someone as I know one day its likely we'll be the one needing something.
Last time out at Donington, a guy on a genuine Honda UK race bike got black flagged due to noise. He was booked onto the evening session so needed a different race can to get out on track again. We ended up taking my exhaust off as my sessions had ended, and even trying a spare I had, but the diameter was a few mm out. Even though it didn't work, I now have his number for Honda parts. So in the end, we tried, and something came out of it.
Another tip is if you have tea making facilities, offer everyone a cup and I guarantee the next time you enter the pits it’ll be like having your own pit crew!
